Cancer Cell Diagnostics (CCDx) Debuts Whole-Cell Genomic Profiling to Redefine Liquid Biopsy
A 500+ gene panel built on intact circulating tumor cells offers a stronger alternative to blood tests that rely on fragmented DNA.
Jupiter, Florida, July 21, 2026. Cancer Cell Diagnostics (CCDx) today announced the commercial launch of CellSight™ DNA, a comprehensive genomic profiling test built on source material that differs fundamentally from conventional liquid biopsy.
Most blood-based cancer tests analyze cell-free circulating tumor DNA: short, degraded fragments that tumors release into the bloodstream. CCDx takes a different route. Its patent-pending enrichment method isolates intact circulating tumor cells from a standard blood draw and extracts DNA from those cells, giving clinicians a more complete picture of tumor biology rather than its remnants.
"We profile more than 500 genes and report tumor mutational burden and microsatellite instability status from one blood draw," said Tifiny McDonald, Chief Executive Officer of CCDx. "Because we work from intact circulating tumor cells rather than cell-free circulating tumor fragments, the platform is designed to give oncologists a more comprehensive tumor profile, and the same sample can be used well beyond DNA sequencing."
CellSight™ DNA is the first assay on the CellSight™ platform. Its next-generation sequencing panel detects single nucleotide variants, insertions and deletions, copy number variations, MSI status and TMB. Testing is performed in CCDx's CLIA-certified laboratory in Jupiter, Florida.
Analytical Validation
In validation studies run under standard operating procedures, CellSight™ DNA detected single nucleotide variants at a limit of detection of 5%, with analytical sensitivity greater than 99% and positive predictive value greater than 97%. Insertions and deletions were qualitatively detected across the tested set.
Because whole cells are preserved, the same enriched material can support future RNA, protein, functional and multiomic applications, which will allow CCDx to expand its test menu over time.
CellSight™ DNA is a laboratory-developed test and has not been cleared or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
